Custom Commands
Build your own replies
Dashboard → Modules → Custom Commands
How it works
- Member types a prefix command
Example: !rules, prefix comes from Dashboard → Settings (default !). Custom commands still run when “Slash commands only” is on.
- Aeon matches the trigger
First word after the prefix, case-insensitive, no spaces. Up to 25 commands per server. Command name is a staff label; members type the Trigger word.
- Reply fires in the chosen mode
Simple text, rich embed, or dismiss (auto-delete reply, optionally delete the member’s trigger message).
Member → !faq
Aeon · FAQ: open tickets in #support, never DM staff first.
Set it up
- Step 1Confirm your bot prefix
Check Settings so staff know whether commands start with
!,?, or another prefix. Change it there, not on this module page. - Step 2Enable Custom Commands
Open Modules → Custom Commands, turn Enable module on, then add at least one command. “Running for this server” requires a trigger and a reply body, enabling with an empty list is not enough.
- Step 3Configure Setup + Message
Under Setup, set Command name (list label) and Trigger word (what members type, without the prefix). Optionally lock Allowed channels. Under Message, pick simple / embed / dismiss, fill the reply, and use Insert chips for placeholders. Dismiss timing is 3–120s (default 15).
- Step 4Save and test in Discord
Save from the floating bar, then type
{prefix}{trigger}in an allowed channel. Locked commands silently do nothing outside their channel list.
Key options
Placeholders
{user}, {user_name}, {user_id}, {server}, {channel}, {member_count} (also {user_pfp}, {username}, {channel_id}).
Dismiss mode
Reply auto-deletes after a few seconds; optionally delete the member’s !command message too, great for temporary tips.
Not slash commands
Prefix-only. They still work with Slash commands only on. Slash availability for built-ins is under Dashboard → Commands.
What you need
- Trigger word
Required. No spaces; do not include the bot prefix (use rules, not !rules). If trigger is empty, it is derived from Command name.
- Reply body
Simple needs content. Embed / dismiss need content and/or title, description, or footer.
- Bot permissions
Send Messages (and Embed Links for embed replies) in the channel members use.
